Happy International TableTop Day!

So today, April 11th, 2015, just so happens to be International TableTop Day!

According to their website, “TableTop Day 2014 was celebrated in 80 countries, over all 7 continents, and had over 3,000 events in total. 2015 is going to be even bigger!” That’s a lot of gaming! You can find an event near you on the above TableTop Day website, though I know that some of the local small gaming shops nearby to us are having events that aren’t listed on the TableTop Day website. If you’re local to Connecticut, check out The Portal in Manchester for some TableTop Day fun!

While we had plans to do some fun playtesting today with some new playtesters (one of whom has never played a pen&paper RPG before!) I had to go and get the flu, so our gaming plans for today have been postponed. That’s also why we’ve not been  updating as much lately, since before I got sick Ian was sick. Isn’t it springtime yet??

We are excited to be able to have our next playtest be run, though. We’ve enjoy pushing the boundaries of our game system, and what people might come to expect from it, and we have something really interesting up our sleeve!

Also something exciting to look forward to is the Boston Festival of Indie Gaming, and the fact that their indie tabletop showcase opens for submissions this week on April 15th! Some of you may remember that we’d entered last year and gotten through the first couple rounds of trials, but didn’t make the final cut. We did, however, really appreciate the fact that they sent out personalized information to each game developer after the fact saying what they liked, what worked well, and what they thought needed some work. It was a good learning experience, and I think we’ve made a lot of good changes in the interim!

In closing, Happy International TableTop Day! Game on! 🙂

Oh, and if you’re ever uncertain how to go about introducing your player party to new locations, always remember you could be a Disney Princess!
